AN EXOTIC EVIL OF THE WORLD

A woman is born from the rib of the man. It means that she is neither superior nor inferior than man. It means that she is neither superior nor inferior than man. Almighty Allah has given equal status to both man and woman.

The dilemma of Pakistan is male chauvinism. Due to same chauvinist thoughts Eve is always blamed as false since the history of human life. The same group of thought claims Eve sinful and disgraceful who guided Adam to eat the forbidden fruit.

Although the respect, honor and pride given to a woman is incommensurable than ant other religion; but in Pakistan no matter she is educated or uneducated, rich or poor all afflicting with male chauvinism in the society.  Even, perhaps, they have forgotten their deserved rights and have given a boon to man in all aspects of life.

12 years back Fakhra, another Eve’s daughter became the victim of exotic evil of man. The life of the girl was ended after the slash of acid thrown on her face.  The pain of the girl can be found by the words, “I don’t look human anymore. My face is a prison for me.” With elevated feelings of torture she committed suicide.

The case was not noticed as it was the charge against the strapping man by a fragile woman. Many of the reasons have been given up till now to save the criminals. She was blamed for her weak character and family background but a part from all these diversities the man who is responsible for all those things should be penalized as Adam was sent to this world after eating the forbidden fruit.

Remember, this is not only Fakhra who suffered with this wickedness of man. There are many women like her who become the victim of the powerful men.

The disgrace exists in Pakistan where a powerful man’s unpunished rage can scr forever a woman’s life (Asian Voyage,2001).

To conclude, I would quote Tehmina Durrani’s words, “Fakhra’s face is the crime of a man against a woman.” It is not a shame for her but a shame for the whole humanity.
